About Us

The Shisei Karate Dojo in Cary NC is dedicated to fostering self-improvement and personal development through focused Karate training, promoting physical fitness and positive social interaction. Our greatest responsibility is to instill in our members a sense of discipline and to inspire them to lead exemplary lives as leaders in the community.

We offer We offer regimented training in Traditional GoJu Ryu Karate. We have been providing Martial Arts training in Goju-ryu Karate in Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, Morrisville area since 2007.

Class hours:

Monday 5:30-6:30 Ages 7-12

Monday 6:30-8:00 Ages 13 and Up

Wednesday 7:00-8:00 All ages

No contract or Registration fee.

Free Karate uniform provided after completion of a 2 lesson trial/try out and sign up.

Sam Carlson is the Chief Instructor/Owner of The Shisei Karate Dojo. He is a 6th degree Black Belt in the art and science of GoJu-Ryu Karate. During his 30+ years of studying Karate literacy he has operated schools in youth centers in locations to include, Fort Knox Ky. Camp Casey Korea, Fort Lewis Wa. and Fort Irwin Ca. The school was formerly located in Apex NC for the past 13 years and has produced many AAU National champions from 2013-2018. He is a retired First Sergeant with 26+ years active service with the United States Army. He lives in Apex with his wife Yuni.
